Boston of the Month
My name is Beetle. I am 11.5 years old and weigh 25 pounds. I need a new home because I was picked up as a stray, not the first time, and unfortunately my family decided not to bail me out this time. I am being fostered in Westminster, CO.
I am a very loving girl. I enjoy, cuddles, belly rubs and giving kisses. I am very quiet and laid back. I don’t need a big yard or long walks. Leashes scare me a bit, maybe because I was picked up by animal control several times but I do enjoy short walks.
If given the opportunity I will run out the door or open gate. My foster parents are always aware of where I am when door or gates are being opened and I listen well when told to get back. I do not ever try to escape the yard.
I am terrified of stairs. I have no problem with 2 or 3 steps but I will not go up or down long flights. I have the onset of cataracts due to my age which may be the reason for my fear of stairs. I see pretty well otherwise.
I am housebroken, use the dog door, will potty on a leash and on command.
I am good with the other dogs in the house but I have no desire to be a playmate or cuddle buddy with them. I prefer to ignore them most of the time. I have lived with cats and I like them fine.
I get anxious in the car and will just lay down and pant.
I would do well in an apartment but only if it is on the ground floor with minimal steps.
I may be an older gal but I have a lot of love to give. If you are looking for a low activity, lover and cuddler maybe I am the gal for you.
Eligible for the Golden Paws Program – $50 off the adoption fee.
