Gus' Second Chance with MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Gus was eight weeks old when turned over to MABTR in March 2024 by a breeder due to a heart condition. After extensive testing he was diagnosed with PDA. This heart condition can be corrected allowing him to live a long, healthy life. We were able to raise the funds of $4600 plus needed for his surgery in only 48 hours. He underwent heart surgery at 18 weeks of age weighing in at 6 pounds on April 5 at the Iowa State University. They were able to go through his hind limb artery placing a clip on the blood vessel. His recovery is no activity for four weeks. He is in a petless foster home for that period of time then will move in with his forever home.

We want to thank everyone who donated towards his medical bill. He is a happy boy with a long life ahead of him.

MABTR's total medical bill for Gus came to $5504 (which includes a discount). His MABTR adoption fee was $500 which is based on age, not our investment in her care.
