People always tell me “I could never do it, I would want to keep all the dogs.” I promise you it is so worth it to get to be a part of these dog’s lives and I am part of the solution that they have a better life!

I  have been a volunteer and foster home for MABTR since 2022.

I got involved when our Boston Annie passed unexpectedly from cancer and a friend recommended fostering to help heal my heart until I was ready to adopt. I keep volunteering because I saw firsthand how important this work is and want to continue to pay it forward.

I play many roles with the rescue from fostering, babysitting, and helping with local events. My husband, Jake, is right by my side helping as well.

It can be challenging to see the way some people treat animals, but it is also motivating to keep doing the work and educating the public about rescue whether it is needing to rehome or adopting.

The best part of fostering is getting to see scared or mistreated dogs learn to trust, enjoy life, and meet their forever family. I love getting updates from adopters seeing how my fosters continue to grow into their new lives. We have an alumni FB page that is great to follow for updates on all the dogs.
