Brownie's Second Chance with MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Updated: Jan 17, 2023

MABTR alumni, Brownie born 2/2015 and retired from a breeder in June 2022. She arrived with happy spirits now that she was free however struggled breathing resulting also in lots of snoring ans snorting.

She had her nostrils opened up and her elongated pallet repaired at the same time she was spayed. She also had her dental resulting in one tooth to be pulled.

Not too soon after surgery Brownie started to vomit which was new. After further tests and a scope of her stomach we found she had helicobacter, a bacteria that is found in both human and dog stomachs which goes undetected. It is common but causes side effects when the body is stressed which in this case her surgery triggered it.

Brownie surgery, treatment and care cost $936 (which includes a discount). Her adoption fee was $275, which is strictly based on her age, not our investment.
