Charlie - MABTR Alumni

I wanted to share a story with you about Charlie (previously Little Chief).

When I first saw Charlie’s post on MABTR, I knew he was the one for us. After talking to his foster mom, Blair, I was convinced. Luckily, she thought so too, and we arranged for Charlie to come to us from Nebraska.

When Charlie first arrived in Denver, he was scared and a bit timid - luckily after a few snuggle sessions on the couch under a blanket with my husband and I, he started settling in here. We were amazed how well his previous family had trained him and he was obviously loved. He already knew his favorite words - “walk” and “treat”, and responded to “sit”, “stay”, “go to bed”. He has quickly learned anything we teach him and takes the most joy in getting treats and making us happy. He has completely mastered house training and does the cutest celebration every time he goes out and does his business!

We absolutely adore him - we both work from home now, so having Charlie to hang with and love on us all day is the best. He has really come out of his shell and has such a funny, sweet and quirky personality. He is the biggest snuggle bug and loves to sit on my lap or be the little spoon. Even though he is a couch potato, he loves to go outside and run in the backyard and play fetch. He is super fast and sometimes gives his bigger dog friends a good workout! We can’t imagine our lives without him, he just brings us so much happiness.

We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to adopt Charlie from MABTR thanks to the wonderful people that give so much to these dogs.
