Reggie - MABTR Alumni

We adopted Reggie in 2020 when the pandemic came into everyone’s lives. Reggie has been such a blessing to us. He is our second adoption from MATBR.

Reggie had heartworms when he came into rescue and we helped him undergo 3 months of intense medical treatment that took it’s toll on him. He had to be kept inactive this entire time due to the nature of the medication. This was not a fun beginning to our lives for any of us but we knew there was light at the end of the tunnel.

Fast forward to present. He is totally clear of heartworms!!! Reggie LOVES to be outside. He goes absolutely nuts when we get his harness. We walk him in the neighborhood and we walk him on park trails and it’s never enough.

On my day off I took him on a total of 10 miles early in the day and by evening he was ready to go again! He is small but mighty in heart and spirit. His heart is forever damaged by the heartworms but he is loving life to the fullest and it doesn’t stop him from enjoying his new life!

Thank you MABTR for rescuing him from the puppy mill so we could show him what a dog’s life should really be like!
