Adoption Process and Monthly Stats (scroll down for stats)

Many Bostons still need a home. Most of them over the age of 6. Consider an adult dog when looking for your next companion.

The first step to adopting a rescued dog is completing an adoption application. There is NO FEE for submitting an application with us.  There is an online adoption application (button below) or a hard copy can be mailed to you.  For a hard copy email us your mailing address at luckypawpals@aol.com or call us at 402-510-1346.

Online Adoption Application

MABTR adopts to families in Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North and South Dakota, and Wyoming.

Once your adoption application is received you will receive an email confirmation within 72 hours of receipt.  If you do not hear back from us please contact us immediately as we did not receive your application.

Adoption applications are kept on file for six (6) months or until we identify the right dog for you and your family. Once a Boston is identified a Rescue Agent will contact you for a phone interview and to schedule a home visit. The purpose of a home visit is to meet the prospective adopters and to evaluate the appropriateness and safety of the home that will be provided for the new dog.  If you reside in the same area as the foster dog then the dog will participate in the home visit.

Each adoption consists of an adoption contract and an adoption fee. The adoption fees vary from $175 to $350 which are based on the age of the dog.  The adoption fee for Bostons mixes range from $150 to $175.  Adoption fees help MABTR cover the medical costs.

MABTR follows a simple but expensive process that involves foster care, medical care, rehabilitation (if necessary), placement (re-homing), follow-up checks, and education to new owners regarding the health, care, and ownership of a Boston Terrier.

ALL rescued Bostons are spayed or neutered, microchipped with the HomeAgain universal chip, tested for heartworm, vaccinated for diseases including rabies and distemper, and any other medical needs are met prior to the rescued dog going to his/her new home. This ensures the Boston's good health. We start all Bostons on heartworm preventative and begin obedience training, and potty training within the foster home. Your new Bostons will also come with a harness, treats, a coupon for a free 8lb bag of Purina Pro Plan from PetCo and a favorite toy.  Sweaters and crates are also available at a discounted price.

A trial period of up to two weeks is offered with each adoption to ensure we made the right match. It is at the end of the two week trial period does MABTR cash the adoption fee.

MABTR is always available to adopting homes to answer any questions or address any concerns. We also provide pet sitting services for when you are traveling and cannot take your new little one with you.
